M for Magazine, for Marvellous?

My idea of retail therapy always involves the bookstore. Fact: I spent more money on literature then I do on any other thing. Coffee comes a close second though, follwed by Cab-fare.

WestEastMag
How very like me and in the style of the journal. Not particularly risque, but extremely visually stimulating. Some interesting articles on culture over on this side of the world. The recent one's got loads on China I find rather pleasant in a beach-read sort of way.

Zembla

This one's totally whacked out. It's a literary magazine with style. They have made a totally geeky activity uber cool. I bought this months one because it has a fantastic article about why the French can't stop writing about sex and Ovidie. It also has an interview with Nietzsche, go figure.

Adbusters
Bunch of mad people screaming about why progress is terrible for the world, cursing consummer culture and insulting Neoclassical economics (Ah, apparently our school system is perfectly evil for teaching it). Comes with the official, unedited Bill of Rights For Future Generations. But it does have some very insightful witticisms.

V-Magazine
Uber cool. Interviews MTV stars, models, contempory writiers, obscure installation artists, anything that can look good, basically. Quick yet insightful, not to mention gorgeous, low-down on popular culture. I just like it. Plus it's A-3 size, but this does not necessarily mean it's large print for easier reading.

Why doesn't Singapore have anything worth looking at? Pity. Hate local mags, never touch them, personally. Maybe FHM, only because this month, a girl I'm aqquainted with at Cayote has made the cover as Java's Hottest Export. And she IS hot. (Then again, FHM Singapore isn't really a local product. And it's not that worth my money still.)
